Brainwave, the Irish Epilepsy Association, has today launched its official websitein Dublin.

Official figures released by the organisation last year suggest there are at least 25,000 people with epilepsy in Ireland.

"Many people with epilepsy feel totally helpless until they receive the vital information that Brainwave provides. Knowledge really is power in this context," said Brainwave chief executive Mr Mike Glynn.

Brainwave sees its most vital area of service to people with epilepsy as being in the post-diagnosis phase, when information and coping strategies are essential to people living with the condition, their parents, families and friends.
