A woman in her 20s has died following a two-car collision in Co Wexford this morning.

The incident took place on a regional road between Gorey and Wexford at about 10am. The woman was the driver and only person in the car.

A man driving the second car was seriously injured and is being treated at Wexford General Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening . He was the only person in the car.

The road is closed to allow collision investigators to examine the scene of the incident at Raheenaskeagh, north of the junction for Oulart village, some 22km from Gorey. Diversions are in place and the road is not expected to reopen until this evening, the Garda said.
