A man sought by British Transport Police (BTP) after the death of a Dublin woman on a rail line near Birmingham earlier this week has made contact with them.

The woman, aged 29, was killed when hit by a train after she crossed railway lines at Barnt Green station, in Worcestershire, early in the morning on Thursday. She has not yet been named by police.

The witness sought had also crossed the railway, just beforehand.

The death is not believed to have been suspicious. Witness reports say she was seen trying to cross the tracks with the man when she was struck.
