Sunny weather is expected to continue into the week as temperatures reached as high as 24 degrees on Sunday.

Temperatures were forecast to reach 26 degrees on Monday in light to moderate southerly winds, Met Éireann said.

The weather service said Tuesday was expected to be a “very warm day” with highest temperatures of up to 27 degrees.

“Most areas will have sunny spells or hazy sunshine but fog or patchy drizzle may impinge some coastal areas and upslopes,” Met Éireann said.

Temperatures are expected to fall on Wednesday, dipping down to the low teens or early twenties in close and humid conditions. However, fresher, less humid weather will spread eastwards during the day.

The weather on Friday will be less muggy but temperatures will remain around 17 to 21 degrees.

“There will be some warm sunny spells but a risk also of some heavy showers breaking out,” Met Éireann said.
