Parts of Dublin now have the highest rates of Covid-19 in the State with five of the worst 10 affected areas within the county.
Donaghmede on the northside has the highest rate of Covid-19 of any local electoral area (LEA) with a 14-day incidence rate of 2,185 per 100,000 of the population.
The national average is now 1,316 per 100,000 for the 14 days prior to this Monday November 29th.
Rush-Lusk (2,053), Swords (1,921), Ongar (1,909) Blanchardstown-Mulhuddard (1,847) are also in the top 10 as is the adjacent LEA of Laytown-Bettystown in Co Meath (1,880).
The second worst affected LEA in the country is Mullingar, Co Westmeath (2,107). Others in the top 10 worst affected areas are Portlaw/Kilmacthomas in Co Waterford (2,056), Cork City North West (2,038) and Callan/Thomastown in Co Kilkenny (1,952).
Carlow, though is currently the worst affected county in the State with a 14 day incidence rate of 1,983.1 per 100,000, followed by Westmeath (1,859.9) and Longford (1,710.2).
The LEA with the lowest rate of Covid-19 in the country is Manorhamilton in Co Leitrim which a month ago had one of the highest rates.
It has a 14 day incidence rate of 573 per 100,000. Two weeks previously it had a rate of 1,829 per 100,000. In sparsely populated areas, a small number of outbreaks can skew the figures. Its population is just 10,821.
Adara/Rathkeale in Co Limerick (646.0), Corca Dhuibhne in Co Kerry (649.0) and Bantry West in Co Cork (678.0) were the other LEAs with the lowest numbers in the country.
