People from across the country are travelling in convoy to Dublin on Saturday to protest against the rise in motor insurance costs.

The demonstration, organised by the group Ireland Underground, will gather outside Leinster House at 12pm before moving to a stage at Merrion Square at 2pm.

Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan and Fianna Fáil TD Michael McGrath will address the crowd.

A statement on the Ireland Underground Facebook page reads: "We are paying far too much as motorists, it has been this way for far too long and it's if about time that changed".
