Irishman admitted to Boston hospital with serious injuries

Man was found unconscious following suspected attack at the weekend

An Irish immigrant living in Boston is being treated in hospital following a suspected attack in the city at the weekend.

The man was admitted to hospital with serious injuries on Sunday morning.

He was discovered by a state trooper in the neighbourhood of Adam’s Village, at 4.15am, unconscious with a contusion on the back of his head, according to the Boston Police department.

The officers observed that the man was breathing but did not respond to officer’s questions.

The man was transported to the Boston Medical Centre for further evaluation where he was reported to be in serious condition. His wife, also in Boston, was notified of his condition.

The Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin is aware of the case but has not yet been approached for assistance.
