Attacker restrained by members of public until police arrive, says PSNI spokeswoman

A three-year-old child has suffered burns to her face after a kettle of hot water was thrown at her in Co Down last night.

Her injuries were said to be relatively minor and the attacker was restrained by members of the public until police arrived, a PSNI spokeswoman said.

A 36-year-old man suffered 10 per cent burns to his body, mainly his back, during the same incident in Drumlin Grange, Ballyward, Co Down, last night.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
