Gardaí have interviewed two people in connection with the theft of a large quantity of lead from the new roof of a church and monastery in Dundalk, Co Louth.
Thieves stripped a new lead roof from St Joseph’s Redemptorist Church and monastery last week leaving both exposed and damaged by torrential rain at the weekend.
A Garda spokesman confirmed on Tuesday that two people had been interviewed in relation to the incident but said no one had been charged.
The theft took place on the night of Tuesday, July 5th or early on the morning of Wednesday, July 6th.
