Gardaí in Cork were last night continuing to question three men and a woman arrested following a €600,000 drugs seizure at a growhouse in the city at the weekend.
Members of the Cork City Divisional Drugs Squad raided a warehouse at the Ballycurreen Industrial Estate in Frankfield at about 6pm on Saturday. They found 18 kilos off cannabis herb with a street value of about €360,000, together with 300 cannabis plants at varying stages of maturity with a combined street value of €600,000.
Two Chinese men and a British woman of Chinese extraction were arrested in the warehouse while a Vietnamese man was arrested in a car outside the premises.
All four were detailed under drug trafficking legislation which allows gardaí to hold suspects for up to seven days without charge.
The Vietnamese man (49) and British woman (45) are being held at Bridewell Garda station and the two Chinese men, aged 33 and 32 are being held at Togher station.
