Five arrested over fatal stabbing at Oliver Bond flats

Five people have been arrested in connection with to the fatal stabbing of a young man at the Oliver Bond Street flats in Dublin on Halloween night.

Lorcan O’Reilly (21) died while reportedly attempting to break up a fight outside the flat complex shortly before 2.45am on November 1st.

Mr O’Reilly sustained serious stab wounds and was taken to St James’s Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead.

Three men and two women were arrested on Monday morning and are being held in various Garda stations across Dublin for questioning.

The five are all aged in their late teens or early twenties.

An incident room was established at Kevin Street Garda station after the death and gardaí conducted door-to-door enquiries in the area.

Mr O’Reilly has been described by gardaí as “a very respectable young man from a very respectable family”.
