Dublin shopping centre evacuated as fire crews battle blaze

Eight fire crews have been fighting the blaze at Fortunestown Shopping Centre since 11am

A large fire has broken out at supermarket in a shopping centre in Tallaght, Co Dublin on Thursday.

Eight fire crews are currently battling the blaze at Fortunestown Shopping Centre since 11am.

People in the shopping centre have been evacuated and no injuries have been reported.

A Dublin Fire Brigade spokesman said the fire had brought under control just before midday and crews were continuing to work on putting the fire out.

Later in the day the crews used thermal imaging cameras to find hot spots.

Some shops around the outside of the centre have reopened late afternoon but the interior is understood to have suffered fire and smoke damage.
