Drugs worth €800,000 seized in Dublin industrial estate

Eight different types of drug, ammunition and forged documentation found

A man in his 50’s has been charged following a drug seizure worth an estimated €800,000 in Dublin yesterday.

He was arrested after vehicle was searched in Ballymount industrial estate yesterday. The man was questioned at Clondalkin Garda station.

A white powder and what are believed to be ecstasy tablets were found inside.

A series of follow-up searches lead to the discovery of up to eight different types of controlled substances at a unit in the estate.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of €800,000, were seized along with ammunition, photographic equipment and a large quantity of forged documents.

This included blank NCT certificates, insurance certificates, P60 tax forms, travel passes and other documents.

An analysis on the drugs is pending.

The seizure was the result a collaborative intelligence led operation into organised crime by the Garda National Drugs Unit, Revenue Customs Service, Crumlin Detective Unit and the Ballyfermot Drugs Unit.
