Inflow.com, a US-based data management company, today announced it would open its Internet Data Centre (IDC) in Clondalkin by the end of the month.

The company has invested more than $10 million in the centre which will initially employ between 25 and 30 people.

The centre will initially house 20,000 square feet of co-location or Web-hosting space and 15,000 square feet of office space, with further expansion contingent on customer demand.

The Dublin IDC, is the 18th in a network that stretches across 15 cities mainly in the United States.

Mr Joe O’Keeffe, managing director, Inflow Ireland said, "We are dedicated to developing Ireland as the focal point of Inflow’s expansion into Europe. With the Dublin IDC being our first international center, we will be making a strong contribution to the continued development of Ireland as a hub of e-commerce activity in Europe."

"There is interest in this location from our existing US customers.The extension of the Inflow network to Dublin will provide those customers with direct access to the Irish and European markets."
