Naturopath Jan de Vries will give talks on dealing with the stresses and strains of life next week.

A pharmacist by training, Dutch-born de Vries practises acupuncture, homeopathy and iridology. His talks are on Tuesday, September 16th at 7.30pm in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone, Co Westmeath and on Wednesday, September 17th at 7.30pm in the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Co Dublin.

Admission is €10, with the proceeds going to the Fighting Blindness charity.

Learning about leadership

An individual's emotional intelligence is the strongest predictor of that person's leadership success, according to Dr Ginger Lapid-Bogda, author of What Type of Leader Are You?

Dr Lapid-Bogda, together with cellist Martin Salzwedel, will draw on the ancient psychological and spiritual tool, the Enneagram, in a weekend workshop on exceptional leadership at Newtown Castle, Ballyvaughan, Co Clare, from Thursday September 18th to Sunday 21st.
