The PSNI has appealed for public assistance in apprehending a rapist who attacked a 15-year-old girl in west Belfast. The incident happened last Friday week but the teenager did not report the attack until a week later, when she confided in a friend.
The girl was attacked as she was walking to shops on the Glen Road on the night of September 23rd. She was then dragged into the grounds of the Glenmonagh Resource Centre and raped.
The girl described her assailant as having short black hair with a short bushy moustache and bushy eyebrows. He was wearing blue jeans and a light T-shirt. He was chubby with thin arms and hands. He had two marks on his nose, possibly from glasses, and a pierced right ear.
Det Sgt John McDermott, appealing for public assistance in finding the rapist, said the teenager was the victim of a brutal crime and her attacker must be brought to justice.
He said she had been severely traumatised by the attack.
