Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy has announced a number of senior promotions and transfers in An Garda Síochána.

Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy has announced a number of senior promotions and transfers in An Garda Síochána.

There are four changes at the assistant commissioner rank, three changes at chief superintendent and 24 promotions or transfers at superintendent rank.

Newly appointed Assistant Commissioners Martin Donnellan and Michael McAndrew take charge at the Northern Region and Southern Region respectively.

Mr Donnellan comes to the post from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI). Mr McAndrew vacates his chief superintendent post at Security and Intelligence at Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park.

Assistant Commissioner Catherine Clancy moves from the Northern Region to Garda Headquarters, where she will take responsibility for human resources. Assistant Commissioner Nacie Rice leaves human resources for crime and security, also at Garda Headquarters.

At chief superintendent level, newly promoted Timothy Maher moves from crime and security to security and intelligence, while newly promoted Chief Supt Mary McGinn moves from Glenties Garda station, Co Donegal, to Letterkenny Garda station.

Chief Supt Noel White moves from Letterkenny Garda station to take charge at the NBCI.

Supt Mick Devine moves from Clonmel to the Navan District. Supt Eugene Corcoran transfers from Bailieboro to the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation. Supt Thomas Dixon transfers to the Garda National Immigration Bureau and Supt Cornelius McIntyre transfers to Blanchardstown.
