Dull, grey, wet in parts - another summer weekend

So you want to get away for the weekend, and why wouldn’t you, it is summer after all?

So you want to get away for the weekend, and why wouldn’t you, it is summer after all?

The good news is that traffic, so far, is not so bad. The bad news is that the weather is not so good either.

The capital is cloudy and misty today, though with the slight relief that it is at least dry. Our old friend ‘hazy sunshine’ is expected later.

Tonight will be misty, with patches of fog in Dublin. Tomorrow will be much the same, with the possibility of showers.

North Leinster’s weather will mostly replicate that of Dublin, but the south of the province is likely to see some patchy rain.

Munster today is seeing outbreaks of showery rain, but will be dryer tonight. Tomorrow will see something similar.

Connacht and Ulster are also seeing some rain today but should be drier tonight too.

If you are heading west from Dublin today, beware that a new one way system is now in place in Boyle, Co Roscommon, with traffic moving anti-clockwise around Carrick Road, Main St and Bridge St.

If you are heading to Dublin for tonight's Carlos Santana / UB40concert at Marley Park, watch out for traffic restrictions in the area. Local restrictions will apply, with Gardaí on point duty at Grange Golf Club, Taylors Lane/Grange Road junction, Stone Masons Way and Grange Road at Taylors Three Rock.

Parking is prohibited in local housing estates but free parking for 3000 cars is available in Marley Park. Entry to this is from the College Road entrance only.

If you are approaching the concert from the M50, take the exit at Ballinteer and keep left for Marley Park. From Dublin city centre the best route is to go via Harolds Cross and then up the Grange Road.
