Unions and management at Dublin bus have reached a deal on a plan for the company’s future, unions said this afternoon.
Siptu and the National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) said management at the bus company had agreed to amend its cost cutting plan to ensure there are no compulsory redundancies and all drivers will be guaranteed at least five days' pay a week
Workers will be balloted on the plan next week.
After negotiations at the Labour Relations Commission a rationalisation plan was agreed between Dublin Bus and unions this afternoon.
“We had a number of objectives in the talks, including no compulsory redundancies, no pay cuts and no casual working for new drivers,” Siptu’s Willie Noone said.
“Under the LRC’s proposals no shift drivers should suffer a cut in pay and there should be no compulsory redundancies,” he added.
