Two injured in aggravated burglary in Galway

A family was the victim of an aggravated burglary at their home in Galway on Tuesday.

The attack took place at an address in Parkwest, Clonberne, Co Galway, at about 7.30pm.

Gardaí said the family had just arrived home when three men entered their house and assaulted the parents before leaving with a small sum of money and mobile phones.

The parents received non-lifethreatening injuries during the incident.

Their two children - one thought to be a toddler - were uninjured.

Gardaí said the burglars are eastern European, thinly-built and between 170 and 180cm in height.
