Gardaí investigating a shooting in, Drogheda, Co Louth, last night have arrested a male teenager.

A man (35) received gunshot injuries to the leg in an incident at the Moneymore Estate shortly after 6pm.

The injured man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda for treatment where his injuries are described as being non-life threatening.

Gardai are questioning a 19-year-old man at Drogheda Garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
