A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Belfast.

The incident, which happened in the Iveagh Drive area of the Falls Road, left a 23-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds to his head and body.

A 23-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

A woman (26) was also detained on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

PSNI detectives at Tennent Street have appealed for witnesses.
