Man held and cash recovered after service station raid

Nobody injured in Baldoyle robbery in which suspected handgun was used

A man was arrested today and a quantity of cash recovered after a robbery of a service station in Baldoyle, Co Dublin.

Two men had entered the Grange Road service station at about 1.30pm this afternoon, one of them armed with what is believed to have been a handgun.

They threatened security staff before escaping with a cash box containing an unconfirmed sum of money.

There were no injuries during the incident.

Gardaí arrested a man aged 23 near Moyne Road, Baldoyle, afterwards and is he being detained at Raheny Garda station under provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
