Man charged over €3.8 million Meath drug seizure

A man in his thirties has been charged in connection with a multi-million euro drugs seizure in Co Meath last week.

Richard Folan (31), with an address at Clinstown, Stamullen, was brought before Dublin District Court on Saturday morning in connection with the find.

Mr Folan faced four charges; two for possession of a controlled drug and two charges for possession with intent to sell and supply.

Gardaí said they estimated the value of the drugs seized had a value of approximately €3.8 million.

The court heard Mr Folan gave no reply when charged.

He was denied bail and remanded at Cloverhill District Court until July 7th.

The drugs were found after gardaí conducted a search of a house in Stamullen on Thursday. The haul included up to 160 kilos of cannabis herb.

The drugs have been put in storage prior to forensic laboratory testing.
