Man (32) dies after Co Louth car crash

A 32-year-old man has died after a single car crash in Co Louth in the early hours Tuesday morning.

Gardaí said the car left the road and hit a ditch near Brannigan’s Cross on the Collon to Tinure Road about 1am.

The man, who was the only person in the car, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Traffic diversions are in place as the scene has been preserved while the the Garda Forensic Collision team investigate.

Gardaí are appealing witnesses or for anyone who was travelling toe Collin-Tinure Road between 12.20am and 1am on Tuesday to call the station at Ardee on (041) 6871130 or the Garda confidential line 1800 666111.
