Love/Hate actor Leroy Harris has been shot in the leg in Dublin in a suspected case of mistaken identity.

Gardaí in Mountjoy station are investigating the shooting which occurred at Rutland Cottages in the north inner city early this morning.

Mr Harris was walking with another male near Rutland Cottages at around 3.40am when a lone man approached them and fired a gun.

Mr Harris (20) was taken to the Mater Hospital with non-life threatening injuries while his companion was uninjured.

Gardaí believe the shooting may have been a case of mistaken identity.

Mr Harris plays a minor role in the RTÉ gangland drama Love/Hate. His character was involved in a scene in which a cat was machine gunned.
