Gardaí are investigating the suspicious death of a young man in Co Tipperary.
The body of the man (23) was discovered at a house in Bruach Tailte, Nenagh, at 4.30pm on Monday.
The man has been named locally as Pearse O’Brien from Belleen, Nenagh.
It is understood Mr O’Brien, who worked in the construction industry, may have been attending a party at the house.
His body remained at the scene for assistant state pathologist Dr Michael Curtis to conduct a preliminary examination.
Gardaí said a postmortem would be carried out at University Hospital Limerick.
According to local sources, Mr O’Brien returned to Nenagh for Christmas to spend time with his family after emigrating two years ago to Perth, Australia. He has one sister.
In a statement, a member of the Garda Press Office said: “Gardaí in Nenagh are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 23-year-old male in a house at Bruach Tailte, Nenagh, at approximately 4.30 yesterday afternoon.”
"The scene is preserved for a technical examination. Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Michael Curtis has arrived at the scene to conduct an examination. The Garda Technical Bureau are at the scene currently."
