A 34-year-old Dublin man charged with false imprisonment of a woman at St Stephen’s Green has been further remanded in custody.

Anthony Griffin, who has given an address at Drumcondra Road, Dublin, faces a single charge of false imprisonment which is alleged to have occurred on the afternoon of June 22nd last at St Stephen's Green.

The alleged offence is contrary to section 15 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.

On Wednesday, he appeared at Cloverhill District Court before Judge Victor Blake, who further remanded him in custody until July 22nd .

At his first court appearance on June 24th, Garda Phillip Gleeson had said Mr Griffin “made no reply when charged”.

An order had also been made that he would be “medically and psychologically assessed while in custody”.
