A courier company was warned that it faced “the full rigour of the law” if it does not appear in court to answer a claim by a garda that the company has up to 40 vehicles but only one haulage licence.

Prendiville Couriers Logistics Ltd, of Castlelands Business Park, Ballinvullen, Castlemahon, Co Limerick, was summonsed before the District Court in Tralee on Wednesday as the owner of a defective vehicle and trailer at a Garda checkpoint at Kealgorm, Castleisland, Co Kerry, on December 5th, 2013.

Garda Caragh Kelly told the court the vehicle and trailer had a defective tyre, rear lights, shocks and number plate lighting and warning lights.

Garda Kelly said the company operating out of Co Limerick had nine similar previous convictions. The garda also said it had up to 40 vehicles and only one road haulage licence when it should have 40.
