A former sports coach facing 74 charges relating to allegations of historic indecent assault has been sent forward for trial to the Circuit Criminal Court.
The man, who is in his 60s, was before Waterford District Court on Tuesday in relation to the charges which relate to alleged incidents in the 1970s and 1980s.
He was originally charged earlier this year and is alleged to have committed indecent assault offences against a number of teenage boys.
The book of evidence was served on the accused at the court sitting on Tuesday, and the man was not called upon to speak except to confirm his identity to Judge Kevin Staunton.
Judge Staunton sent the accused forward for trial, to appear at the current sittings of Waterford Circuit Criminal Court on April 21st.
He remanded the accused on his own bail bond of €2,000, and granted legal aid for the accused’s solicitor and one counsel.
