A Co Dublin couple have consented to their four-bedroom, semi-detached home being given back to their bank, a court was told Monday.
Tony Reynolds, solicitor for Dermot and Yvonne Murphy, of Golf links Road, Skerries, told Judge Jacqueline Linnane in the Circuit Civil Court that the couple would prefer the property be sold to reduce their debt to EBS Bank.
A representative of O’Connor Solicitors for EBS told the court the bank was seeking a possession order by consent for a part of the property surrounded in red rather than the whole of the land folio.
Judge Linnane granted a consent order for possession of the area marked in red which she said constituted a big part of the property which has a large rear garden.
The four-bedroom houses with parking for several cars on a tiled forecourt is on the market with an asking price of €320,000.
The court heard that the house was bought on a March 2002 mortgage loan of €228,550 with a subsequent loan of €14,000 in 2005 and €12,000 in 2008, all of which had fallen into arrears.
