Judge worked as solicitor for 22 years before appointment to Circuit Court bench in 2001

Circuit Court judge Katherine Delahunt has died aged 58 following a lengthy illness.

Ms Delahunt worked as a solicitor for 22 years before serving as a judge of the Circuit Court from 2001. She was the first female solicitor to be appointed a judge in the Circuit Court.

She was married to Stephen O’Byrnes, director of MKC communications.

Her funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 4th at 11am in the Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook, Dublin 4, followed by burial in the Three Mile Water cemetery beside Brittas Bay in Co Wicklow.
