The body of a man in his forties has been found in a house in Gortaleen, Castlemaine, Co Kerry.
The Gardaí at Castlemaine are still investigating the incident.
The scene has been preserved for forensic examination and the State pathologist, Dr John Harbison, has been asked to carry out a post-mortem.
The body was discovered at about 1.30 a.m. this morning.
