Independent News and Media and Arcon director, Mr Jim McCarthy, said yesterday that he was "delighted" with the nature of his portrayal in the Ansbacher report.

"I was very pleased with the result because I was completely exonerated from what it was all about," said Mr McCarthy.

Speaking after the annual general meeting of Arcon - the successor to Atlantic Resources - Mr McCarthy said he was happy that the report had shown him to have held "no deposits" with Ansbacher.

"I'm delighted with the result," he said, adding that the loans he had taken from the Cayman bank had amounted to "private business".
