COMMENTING ON the discovery of a 600lb bomb at Forkhill, Co Armagh, Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams told reporters at Leinster House yesterday:
“We have challenged the motivation for that. We have made it very, very clear that those days are gone.”
He continued: “It’s quite clear that the local people do not support what is happening. Some people were very, very frightened and outraged and I endorse what [Minister for Regional Development in the Executive] Conor Murphy has said: Let those who support these groups, or group, explain their rationale and let them come and talk to whoever they want and we include ourselves in this.
“We want to see all of these actions ended and we want to see the peace process built upon as opposed to being pulled back, the way these people are trying to pull it back.”
