“I was interested in your response to an inquiry about car insurance in the Algarve, in Portugal.
“I go there a few times a year with my wife, and we always hire a car from Luzcar, a company based in Lagos. We book online in advance through www.luzcar.com and arrange to collect the car at Faro Airport, then drive to Praia da Luz. We have the option of having the car collected at the apartment or leaving it back in Lagos or at the airport.
“I have tried to find cheaper car insurance on the web, but cheaper ones are usually supplemented by add-ons for comprehensive insurance and so on, which negates the difference in price.
“I find it’s better for peace of mind to have comprehensive insurance in the price – and know about it in advance, instead of being surprised at the airport.
“I find Luzcar good to deal with, with no hidden extras, and would recommend them. (I have no connection with Luzcar.)”
