A round-up of today's other stories in brief
Be treated like a queen
Queen Victoria came to tea at The Lake Hotel in Killarney in 1861 and took a tour of the lakes with a picnic, and the hotel (still going strong) is putting on a special offer to mark Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Ireland.
The offer, for May and June, includes a one-hour boat trip on the lakes starting and ending at the hotel’s private pier with a lavish picnic hamper of fresh seafood, pastries and champagne. Also two nights in a lake view room with breakfast each morning and dinner on one evening for €195pps. The offer is subject to availability and does not include the June bank holiday weekend.

Starting at the City Hall where Benny performed for the first time, the tour continues via the Sheraton Hotel, one of many places ABBA videos were recorded, and one of the city’s distinctive 1970s landmarks.
