TRAVEL TALKS:"AFRICA: TRAVEL AND people" is the theme of this year's Immrama Lismore Festival of Travel Writing, which takes place from June 12th to 15th.

BBC news anchor George Alagiah (above), a specialist on Africa who has reported on the civil war and famine in Somalia, the genocide in Rwanda and the farm invasions in Zimbabwe, is the keynote speaker.

Other guests include Tim Butcher, author of the bestselling book Blood River, the travel writer and explorer Redmond O’Hanlon (who will be speaking at a literary breakfast, the photojournalist and film director Guillaume Bonn and the Sunday Times correspondent and writer Christina Lamb.
