World’s best job offer
A Meathman has fought off 35,000 rivals to be shortlisted for what has been touted as “the best job in the world”, as caretaker of Hamilton Island, on the Great Barrier Reef. George Karellas, a 31-year-old who previously worked for RTÉ and Carr Communciations, is in line to be one of 11 candidates selected for interview. Shelbourne newborn
Michael Liam Austin became the first baby to be born at the Shelbourne Hotel, in Dublin, when he arrived in suite 435 on January 23rd. A son to Catherine and Chris Austin, the hotel’s director of operations, he was delivered by his dad and guest-relations manager Josephine Redmond.
