Catherine Dolan, from Boyle, Co Roscommon, met IT consultant Colin, from Sligo, through friends at a New Year's Eve party in Rosses Point 10 years ago. In the summer of 2007 they bumped into each other while travelling separately around Australia. They officially became a couple the following year when Catherine, now a doctor at St James's Hospital in Dublin, was working as an intern in Sligo.

During a trip to Bruges in 2014, Colin proposed and the next day they took the train to Antwerp and chose a ring.

On May 28th this year, they were married in St Joseph's Church in Boyle. Before the reception at Glasson House, Co Westmeath, the newlyweds had photos taken with their wedding party at Lough Key Forest Park and Boyle Abbey. The bride's dress was from Myrtle Ivory and her veil – and bridesmaids' dresses – were made by Jill Wilde.
