At prices starting from £159,950 (€203,136) and rising to £215,000 (€273,050), the homes are likely to appeal to first-time buyers as well as those wanting to trade up to more spacious accommodation in a quiet setting.

This weekend sees the launch of the first phase of 36 houses. There will be 88 houses in total on completion of the scheme.

Built on an elevated site near the centre of Blessington by Aranbel Construction, the houses are on sale though Leahy Property Consultants. At the lower end of the price spectrum is a three-bedroom 1,057 sq ft semi-detached house priced at £159,950 (€203,136). It has a ground floor comprising a separate sittingroom and open plan L-shaped kitchen/dining area.

The slightly larger three-bedroom 1,150 sq ft semi-detached style is more traditional in layout and costs £164,950 (€209,486).

It has a sittingroom and separate diningroom which adjoins the kitchen/ breakfast area.

There are three styles of four-bedroom house. In the mid-range is the four-bedroom semi-detached 1,314 sq ft priced £184,950 (€234,886): it has a lounge with double doors to a separate diningroom and an extended kitchen/ breakfast area and utility room.

The 1,467 sq ft detached four-bed is priced at £210,000 (€266,700), and is more traditional in layout than the largest home, which is a four-bedroom detached house with 1,485 sq ft of space. It costs £215,000 (€273,050). Both have integral garages which have been converted to provide an extra bedroom. The first phase will be available for occupation between May and August.
