A modern mews, a country house and a cottage in the suburbs with potential are all on view this weekend
- A modern mews house tucked away off fashionable St Mary’s Road in Ballsbridge is ideal for downsizers prepared to pay a premium price for the location. The four-bedroom house at 41 St Mary’s Lane is new to the market with Lisney, where Tom Day is asking €1.75 million.
Tucked away behind Northumberland Road, and in fact built in what was once the garden of one of its houses, the mews-style house is a short walk from the shops of Baggot Street, with buses around the corner to the city centre. It was built on a generous site, with drive-in parking for two cars, and a pretty walled back garden.
Inside, 177sq m (1,905sq ft) of accommodation includes two reception rooms, a spacious eat-in kitchen, a utility room and a garden room. The surprise is the 39ft attic that runs the full width of the house and provides an additional 44.6sq m (480 sq ft) bedroom, or simply an excellent storage space.
On view Saturday, 2pm-3.30pm
- In Blackrock, Co Dublin, Colliers expects good interest in a cottage with potential at 9 Stradbrook Park, which is an executor’s sale. The end-of-terrace two-bedroom house needs total renovation but with a 98ft back garden there is plenty of potential, while off-street parking could also be applied for in front of the house.
Most interesting of all is the asking price of €315,000. According to Peter Kenny of Colliers, the agency sold a similar cottage on the road in 2006 for €850,000.
On view Saturday, noon-1pm
- In Terenure, Sherry FitzGerald has put an asking price of €1.625 million on 118 Terenure Road West, a very well presented four-bedroom house with a landscaped 130ft garden at the back, and a 90ft front garden with plenty of parking.
Called Marlfield, the bay-windowed house has 221sq m (2,380sq ft) of living space and an additional double garage to the side. An ideal trade-up in an area bristling with good schools.
On view Saturday 1pm-2pm
- One of the prettiest houses in Co Meath, The Glebe, Kilskeer, is back on the market, having been sold last year.
It’s back with estate agent Edward Townsend of Colliers who is asking €1.5 million for the house on five acres, including gardens, an orchard, and an an original coachyard with attractive cut-stone outbuildings.
