Garden lighting is important in Ireland because we spend so much time looking out at the space rather than in it, says Rocky Wall, managing director of Wink Lighting (01-2762200, wink.ie). This is a difficult trend to see filtering down to consumer level, but if anyone has the power to do it, it is Tom Dixon, who with Design Research Studio has created a limited-edition series of apartments and a restaurant at Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London. You can catch the petrol-inspired rainbow colours in the glass balustrading of this penthouse. Dixon has also announced a collaboration with Ikea which will be available in the latter half of 2017.
