Esmonde Motors on the Old Stillorgan Road, Co Dublin, is looking to build a major mixed-use development on its 1.2-acre site.

The planning application to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is for 110 apartments rising to 11 storeys over double basement and a 33-bedroom apart-hotel.

This would involve the demolition of existing structures on the site. The development would have a gross floor area of 13,085sq m (140,845sq ft) and frontage onto the Old Stillorgan Road and the new Stillorgan Road.

The proposal is for an apart-hotel with winter gardens in each unit above ground level and a roof garden on the first and fourth floors.

It would also have a restaurant with outside terrace, a pub, two retail units and a reception area, a café and creche with a private play area and four live-work units.

Esmonde Motors is also looking for 237 basement car-parking spaces and a pedestrian plaza linking the Old Stillorgan Road with the New Stillorgan Road.

The Stillorgan Road area is earmarked for much residential development over the next year. Around 478 apartments and a nursing home are planned for a large site fronting the Stillorgan Road at The Grange, near Galloping Green.
