Auction Results: Monday (June 1st) Victor Mee Auctions on-the-premises sale of house contents at Emo House, Emo, Co Laois. A Georgian mahogany four-door library bookcase €14,000 (€10,000- €15,000); a pair of cased pistols presented to Robert Smith of Newtown, King's County (Offaly) made by Georgian Dublin gunsmiths McDermott €11,500 (€8,000-€12,000); an Irish mahogany George II open armchair (formerly in Belvedere House, Mullingar) €6,500 (€4,000- €6,000).

Forthcoming Auctions: Tomorrow, Sunday (June 7th) Matthews Auction Rooms will hold a ("well- signposted") on-the-premises executors' sale in Belturbet, Co Cavan, at the home of the late Hugh Kenna at 2.30pm.

Correction: The report last Saturday inadvertently described the €260,000 achieved at Sheppard's auction for a Chinese jade seal as "the highest price achieved in any Irish fine art and antiques saleroom in 2015".
