The final 30 large detached homes in Temple Manor, a stylish development on the outskirts of Celbridge, Co Kildare, go for sale today at prices ranging from £199,000 to £239,000. Hooke & MacDonald are handling the sales. Last September, Cosgraves sold 69 of the houses in the development over one weekend. It was the first major housing scheme to be launched by the developers since they built Chesterfield in Castleknock at the height of the last property boom in 1989. In the meantime, they have been specialising mainly in the Dublin apartment market.
Cosgraves have made a number of changes in the detached four and five-bedroom houses before bringing the final phase on to the market. The five-bedroom houses are now deeper than previously, to improve the bedroom proportions. The layout of the four-bedroom unit has also been altered, principally to enhance the main en suite bathroom.
The four-bedroom detached homes have a floor area of 1,680 sq ft and will be priced from £199,000 to £205,000. The five-bedroom detached houses will have 1,870 sq ft of floor space and cost mainly from £229,000 to £239,000. The remaining houses are due to be completed this summer. The two house types have a family room as well as a living-room. The reception areas are particularly spacious and elegant. There are double doors leading from the hall into the living-room and matching doors opening into the dining-room. The living-room has a huge bay window featuring leaded glass.
There are two different fireplaces, both with pine mantelpieces, polished cast-iron insets and black granite hearths. There are sliding doors from the dining-room into a rear walled garden. The two house types have family rooms on the opposite side of the hall and behind them terrific kitchens that are likely to have broad appeal. They also have a separate utility room.
One of the other great attractions is an old-style cast-iron stove heated by mains gas. Both house types have a lavatory under the stairs and the larger house also has a door leading to a storage area.
All bedrooms can take double beds and all come with attractive wardrobes. The five-bedroom houses have fitted dressing-rooms off the main bedroom. The main bathrooms have a separate bath and shower.
All houses have a dual controlled heating system and cobble-lock driveways.
