The Food Festival mantle passes from Dungarvan to Galway this week, where there will be food talks and debates, demonstrations and tasting sessions, and an added element of a lunchtime comedy smorgasbord in the Ruby Room in the Kings Head (Saturday and Sunday). The five-day festival runs from today until Easter Monday. There's a strong family flavour to the programme, with a pizza making class for children at Tom Sheridan's in Knocknacarra tomorrow at noon, a teddy bear's picnic in Woodquay Park on Saturday (1pm-3pm), a children's Easter egg hunt at The Twelve hotel in Barna on Sunday at noon and another at Millennium Park at 2.30pm. A Kiddies' Kitchen cooking class will allow the junior MasterChefs to show their paces at House Hotel, also on Sunday, at 1.30pm. The Festival Village at Spanish Arch is the place to go to refuel. Moycullen market tomorrow, Woodquay Country Market on Saturday (10am-5pm) and Galway market (Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm) are the places to restock your larder.
