Have a beautiful Christmas

NATURAL POLISH

Queen of the natural look Bobbi Brown has added chrome and shine for her Christmas look this year, but with this brand, you will never look overdone – this is the subtlest and most understated of our three looks. Make-up artist Emma Zulkouski has been five years with the Bobbi Brown brand and gave our model a luminous glow with soft gilded metallic eye shades concentrating on the upper lid for definition and keeping the under eye area brightened and smooth. Her lips were glossed with a natural, neutral tone.

CLASSIC ELEGANCE

This timeless and sophisticated look from the Chanel counter was created by first perfecting the skin for a flawless finish. Eyebrows were groomed with their special brow kit which includes colour, tweezers and magnifying mirror, €53. For an elegant finish on the eyes use the Beige Velours palette (a favourite of mine), €45. Black liner was added to give definition and is a must for this look. The main focus of this make-up are the classic red lips and Chanel has a great choice of red shades. You need to carefully apply lip colour with a brush for the perfect finish. Add a slick of highly pigmented gloss, and you’re good to go.

Here’s a great tip for a sophisticated night out or for hair in a hurry. Place a fine hairnet around a ponytail, enclosing it, and clip to secure in place, then simply roll up loosely and pin for a soft, groomed finish.

TRUE BLOOD

Dawn McGann has been with Illamasqua since they opened in April at BT2. This is a dramatic fashion brand with strong depth of pigment in the products, making it perfect for experimental types.

Dawn created a trendy “sexy vampire” look which showcases both eyes and lips, with a nod to the 1960s. Defined eyebrows are an important part of this look, and Dawn made up the eyes first so that any “fallout” could be removed before applying a cream foundation to the face. Highlighting the inner corner of the eye gives an ethereal slant to this look and the dramatic use of false eyelashes on the bottom eye line channels Twiggy’s finest hour. Deep plum lips and gloss complete the look.

Gary transformed her hair by back-combing. “Clip away the piece of hair that will be at the front, backcomb the rest and lay the front piece back over for a smooth finish.” For extra volume and length, a hairpiece was also attached.
