Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses after a pedestrian was left in a serious condition after being knocked down by a car in west Dublin on Wednesday evening.
The man, aged in his 30s, was struck by a car on the Old Navan Road, Mulhuddart, west Dublin about 8.15pm.
The pedestrian was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where his condition is described as serious. The driver of the car was not injured in the incident.
The road was closed by gardaí on Wednesday evening to allow for a technical examination of the scene by Garda forensic collision investigators, but has since been reopened.

Gardaí based in Blanchardstown have issued an appeal for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Anyone who was on the Old Navan Road or in the surrounding area between 7.50pm and 8.20pm, or who may have camera or dashcam footage of the incident, has been asked to contact investigating gardaí.
