A man’s body has been discovered during the search for missing man Joe Noonan (62) who went missing from his home in Kilmallock, Co Limerick on Tuesday, January 7th. Following the discovery, the search for Mr Noonan has been stood down, gardaí said.
“We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance,” An Garda Síochána said in a statement.
A search had resumed on Thursday morning for Mr Noonan, missing amid freezing temperatures in west county Limerick, since last Tuesday.
Mr Noonan was last seen in the Granagh-Ballingarry area of the county in the early hours of last Tuesday and may have travelled to the Croom area.

It is one of several parts hit hardest by treacherous snow and ice conditions.
A land and air search for Mr Noonan (62) began yesterday, Wednesday, across frozen fields, ditches, farms and byways.
A team of local volunteers, assisted by gardaí, as well as the Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard rescue helicopter, Rescue 115, carried out a comprehensive series of searches of the Granagh area in difficult conditions.
The location of the body was pinpointed by Clare Civil Defence using an aerial camera drone, about 5km from where Mr Noonan was last seen in Granagh, Ballingarry.
